Summerhome.com was created in 1998 to showcase rental homes and enable people to find a home that’s the best fit for their summer vacation. We are still the only web site created to list vacation rental homes exclusively for Cape and Islands homeowners. As listings are placed directly by the homeowners there are no real estate brokers, hidden 15% rental agency commissions, “key fees”, or reservation fees.

Unlike most other listing sites who just display your photos as is, we optimize your photos for best on-screen appearance and fast page display. Like a custom photo lab, we adjust color balance and contrast and remove minor defects. You can e-mail your digital photos or send your prints by mail (we do not charge any scanning fees).

We’ve made summerhome.com simple to use. From the first page you’re just two clicks away to viewing a home. There are no confusing logins, questionnaires, passwords or databases. The site works with all popular 21st century browsers.

Why no sorting functions?... |
|
Homes are arranged by location, size and price. As we “hard code” the pages for fast display, there is no delay to access a database and visitors can quickly check several homes. (We can also keep our prices low by saving on programming costs.) The “hard coded” pages result in a short web page address (url) that is easy to send in an e-mail or to say over the phone. Please note that while homeowners can link to an “availability calendar”, these are not guaranteed to be up to date.

We’re Cape Cod enthusiasts, summer home owners, former summer home renters, graphic designers, and web site developers. We believe the internet is a better home showcase than a fax machine, copy machine, or newspaper photo. We’re local, Massachusetts based and list vacation rental homes only for Cape Cod, Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket.
